Marion Health recently celebrated the ribbon cutting for their new Marion Health East Hospital on their Innovation and Medical Center campus located on approximately 120 acres in Gas City at the northeast corner of I-69 and State Road 22. This state-of-the-art, 100,000-square-foot facility opened for patient care on September 23rd. The Marion Health East Hospital hosts an urgent care and emergency department with dedicated trauma bays, behavioral care rooms, and 4 observation stay rooms. Surgical capabilities include 4 operating rooms, additional procedural rooms, and shell space for 4 additional ORs. Surgical innovations include the presence of a Getinge surgical instrument washer and a Da Vinci surgical system. The facility includes a dedicated multi-specialty ambulatory space, a rehabilitation gym for outpatient therapies, full laboratory and radiology services, and a 9-bed inpatient medical-surgical unit with telemetry monitoring supported by the main Marion General Hospital campus. The helipad even includes a heated driveway leading to the emergency department/ambulance bay!
